Yeah, you're right, that's half the problem I think, shoulda bought a piece of shite! But being a bit silly, I'm sure it won't be long till my precious will be a scratched, pranged and dirty bearch!!

Hi, I noticed that most the people replying to your message are riding huge bikes. I'm new ... like new riding a 20 year old 250. I'm into the ride, just not so keen keen on the idea of being left for dust. Is this ride suitable? ... Where are we going?

Absolutely suitable for you. This ride is about the newbies. You wont be left for dust. There will be plenty of smaller bikes there for you to ride with (like me).
We usually head over to the Wairarapa and have lunch over there, explore a bit, then head back over the hill to home

    Welcome by the way

Dont stress it mate, im on a 150. You have to get out and ride if you want to learn. Just take it at your own pace someone will always be waiting for you so you dont get lost. Oh yeah you'll also get to meet some great people too!

Since when has 'spunky' been a pre-requisite poos? Usually its just 'conscious'. Although...

Hi Neats and welcome to the madhouse.

Don't worry about being left for dust. If I get the bike sorted in time and I can make it, then I will probably be bring up the rear. The CBX has only got a top speed of about 110 with a tail wind, whilst going down a 1:4 incline.
I joined for the first part of a ride a couple of months ago. Apart from not having the same acceleration to get past a cage on the twisties from Tawa to J'ville, I kept up with the bigger bikes. (or should I say, they held back and waited for me - thanks guys). Even on SH2 up to Upper Hutt, they all kept in a group at a speed I was quite able to stay at.
I'm not so sure about going over the hill though. The CBX struggles up the gorge so I think the Taka's may be too much for the old girl.
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

20 huh, shit that puts you into the "oldish" catagory.

Don't worry mate just come along and unless something horribly bad happens you should enjoy it.

    Learner Plate Debate

Hey guys, would love you to pop a "L" plate on your bike. It'll reduce my chance of getting pulled up for going 100.
