Don't worry about being left for dust. If I get the bike sorted in time and I can make it, then I will probably be bring up the rear. The CBX has only got a top speed of about 110 with a tail wind, whilst going down a 1:4 incline.
I joined for the first part of a ride a couple of months ago. Apart from not having the same acceleration to get past a cage on the twisties from Tawa to J'ville, I kept up with the bigger bikes. (or should I say, they held back and waited for me - thanks guys). Even on SH2 up to Upper Hutt, they all kept in a group at a speed I was quite able to stay at.
I'm not so sure about going over the hill though. The CBX struggles up the gorge so I think the Taka's may be too much for the old girl.
we'll always wait for you swift one

Rang the shop on Thursday to be told the cam and rockers are stuffed and need replaced.

They are having a few problems locating replacements due to the age of the bike, so I'm still waiting to find out how much it is going to cost me and if it is actually worth it.

So it looks like I will not be able to make this ride (unless I can persuade her indoors to let me get something else this week)
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

I had a serious clean up of my bike today. I pulled the whole rear end apart and cleaned everything including my chain. Its amazing. You can actually tell that its made out of metal and not black stuff. See you all next weekend

I hope you're having a good easter break.
I think you might be a just little bit disappointed with the turnout next weekend though!

Keen to come along, all I need to do is learn to ride.

That might be my first weekend on a bike so it's probably too advanced for me but I'll turn up at Caltex Rimutaka to meet you lot and drool over all bikes nicer than mine.

MikeyG if you make it to caltex you'll be fine (unless theres diesel on the takas)

Got the bike back today with a fixed fork seal and ive bumped the idle up abit and its running a tad better, also trialing half a tank of 95.

Got my car learners today (dont even start with me) and booked my bike restricted for the 20th at 4pm so i should have it intime

Beats me, far as i know they give you a cb radio for the helmet and follow you in a car telling you where to go and assessing how well you do.

Gotta fix my rear brake pedal sensor in time i guess too....

I was planning on taking the car to Caltex if I was just going that far. We'll see how much riding I have done by then
