They are just on the other side of the Basin between McDonalds and the Caltex garage. Father/Son family business. A couple of friends recommended them to me. Very laid back and friendly. Apparently, they have been in business for years. They did a great deal for me on my tyres and bits and pieces a few month ago.

Off to Taupo with the family this week-end so hopefully the motor will be ready to pick up when I get back. It will have been off the road for nearly 3 weeks by the time I get back.
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

We came, We listened, And in one voice we answered
    BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!!

Do you mean Richard's in J'ville? I have only had one dealing with him, I found him quite good, but then again, only been there once, and not that I dealt with him, he charged me nothing! (maybe I smiled sweetly or something?)

I had been there once previously, but yeah it's not well signed. Would recommend finding it previous to test day. And yeah he was real laid back, got rid of any nerves.

Didn't really mention what he was looking out for. I just made sure I put my left foot down when stopping and moved my head around a bit to show i'm looking around. Otherwise just display balance and confidence and you'll be sweet. As for lane position, I don't think it matters too much, although the road code says you should be where a car's right tyres would be in the lane.

Mum and Dad want to visit for the weeend so I won't be able to make it. Although I want to.

Got the bike regoed and WOFed on Thurs and went for my first ride on Sunday. Round the bays from Newtown to Owhiro Bay and then the coast road back around mirimar to Evans Bay and back to Newtown. Loving it.

The GN even went better than my car!

Just a reminder for this sunday's ride.

Hope the weather gods play nice & we get some riding in.

I'll be there, even if I have to stop at every gas station and pump up my tyre *sigh*

I'm sure you can buy something in a can that you can blow up your tye with I think it's a kind of liquid & it keeps your tyre inflated

Looks like I'll be able to make it but can anyone tell me where the Caltex Rimutaka is? I'm not really familiar with the area.... What's the best way to get there coming from the north? (Palmerston North)

    Thanks

To be honest i'd probably get you lost if I tried to give you instructions, but one thing I do know is that you can ride over Piecock on your way TO the ride! Niiiiice!

Heres a map : The address is 1193 Fergusson Drive Upper Hutt

Hmmmm and I saw on the first post that there will be a group of L plate riders... Now I usually display my L plate but I do 100km/hr on open road anyway... Should I bring my plate? I definately don't want to be doing 70km/hr though.. will the L plate group travelling at 70km/hr or the normal speeds?

Anyone going there from Palmy or Levin that doesn't mind me tagging along??? (taking into considerationg that my top speed is around 130km/hr and I would rather stick to the speed limit (100km/hr) most of the way (don't wanna get caught doing over 110km/hr and risk my licence since I'm on my learners)

    Thanks for the map!
