Im on a learners licence but wont have my L plate displayed. Your choice really but to be honest we dont get too many people with L plates on. If you choose to wear one and want to keep to the 70 kph then people will ride with you or wait at intersections. They're good like that.

    Hi!

Looks like you'll have someone with you anyway, but the simplest way to get there if your coming South on SH1 is to turn left off SH1 at Plimmerton onto Grays Rd (SH58), stay on SH58 till you get to the lights on SH2 in the Hutt Valley, turn left onto SH2 and 5 minutes later you'll see a Caltex on your left.... stop there!

P.S. Thats the easy way, but not really the fun way...

Damn, I was just getting excited (will be my first long ride) and looked at a forecast and it looks like the weather might be crap...

Do you guys usually go anyway if it's raining, or do you call it a day?

Hopefully I'm wrong about the weather....

There are no doubt some hard core that will go regardless of the weather, but I'm not one of them! At the moment the weather is looking marginal (seems to be rain coming Sun afternoon/evening) so I'll just wait and see how that develops over the next few days.

yeah same here. If it's raining I won't be coming. I'm too soft to ride in the rain all day. If it's raining on the way home from the ride then I can live with that

If it's raining the ride will be cancelled as I don't want to put people at risk.

If it is crappy weather on the day you have the option of either trying for the following weekend or I will organise the next Newbie for mid May.
Need feedback on this so arrangements can be made.

Just to put another idea on the table... any chance of bringing the ride forward to this Saturday? Probably not. (Weather looks much better. )
I can't make next Sunday, so I'd have to wait until mid-May.

Keeping my fingers crossed for the weather on Sunday...

Would be nice, but a lot of people have either work or home commitments that rules out Saturdays.
Will sit with fingers crossed for Sunday.
