Yea but why go and stuff it up for everyone by putting them in, alot of people can use roundabouts and they then just get frustated.Originally Posted by Jim2
They call themselves SaferRoads but its just going to cause more road rage, how is that safer?

Now this is a little different to that, we are talking about a 40k speed limit not a toll on a road so it get completed faster.Originally Posted by Squeak the Rat
Would you rather they enforce a 20k speed limit on the motorway during rush hour so they dont have to make a new road?

HOw about people learn how to drive and stop blaming road safety initiatives that are doomed to fail because MOST people can't drive?Originally Posted by Wenier

The proposal in Auckl is to place a toll cordon on the entire inner-Auckland suburbs to ease congestion and raise revenue for future roads. It is not as you say "a toll on a road so it get completed faster". Which emphasises my point that no one outside Auckland cares what's happening to us as road users - so much that people don't even understand the issue.Originally Posted by Wenier
So getting any one in Auckland to take notice of your problems in Wellington seems a little hypocritical to us.![]()
ok, ok so I actually made a submission.... Only because it might spread, not because i care
Those are the whitest teeth I have ever come across
Just got a letter from the council:
168 for the reduction
491 against the reduction
94 mostly agree with the reduction
95 mostly disagree with the reduction
The speed limit will not be lowered!!!

Democracy won for a change. Crack open the champagne. All my efforts were not in vain, like I suspected. I would have loved to have seen the looks on those pricks faces at the WCC when they realised their personal agendas didn't override the wishes of the Public for once. The WCC must have been pissed having to back down. I meet these dickheads face to face and could see they were determined that their personal agendas would be railroaded over us plebs. The same plebs they supposedly work for and who would have to live with their crap decisions.
Hope you all noticed the hidden agenda hasn't gone away though. Just because 75% voted against a few Council workers, take careful note of the warning. They haven't said Ok you win public. Oh no, it's "Due to the large number of responses against the proposal a decision has been made not to proceed with lowering the speed limit at this point in time.
Translation - we learnt our lesson. If 75% of our constituents are going to disagree with our pen pushers ideas then we will ignore your wishes and wont ask for your opinion next time. Then we can slip it pass on the sly.
