Looks abit more than 4 HP Dude as Stated 10+ HP
2001 GSXR1k was voted 2001 Bike of the Year in PB magazine and Superbike I think.
    I've seen higher outputs listed.
    http://www.sportrider.com/bikes/146_0106_gsxr1000/
They list the 2001 GSXR1k as 143.1hp which is close as to the 02 model and I've seen higher numbers in other bike mags for both the 01/02

All irrellevant really, all are wicked bikes and faster than most who ride em.

Quite true but it also beat the K5..... though some would argue that it wasn't quite as well set up as the 10 BUT the 10 didn't have a steering damper either which made it a bit less user friendly however, it still won

They both have there great points and bad points, and leave it at that. What won bike of the year this year and next really isn't the point here

They both awsome bikes. and leave it at that, this is for Fish to get peoples thoughs and ideas about what the gsxr 1000 as a bike to ride in the real world.

Yeah like i said earlier Fish there is only maybe 1 every 500,000 that can ride these bikes to the limit.

And if anyone was this 1 person they be on a track racing, so just get which ever bike turns you on the most(well that is in your budget of course, since, thats always the biggest thing), and feel comfortable on.

No no. I think I just got a duff one from the second shipment, it literally came apart on it's own.

This one has been fine, just make sure you use a nice soft polishing cloth on the fairings.

On a serious note, I did just manage to get 312.3 km out of a tank of go juice. Mobil synergy5000 I think it was, mostly commuting but giving it some tits on the nutterway sections to avoid boredom.

The power for all but the K5 is very similar, although they deliver it in differing ways.
The K5 was a huge leap forward obviously.

    2001 160 hp (118 kW)/ 10.800 rpm, 110 Nm/ 8,500 rpm.
    2002 160 hp (118 kW)/ 10.800 rpm, 110 Nm/ 8,500 rpm.
    2003 162 hp (119,5 kW)/ 10.800 rpm, 120 Nm/ 8,500 rpm.
    2004 164 hp (120 kW)/ 10.800 rpm, 113 Nm/ 8,400 rpm.
    2005 178 hp/ 11,000 rpm, 121 Nm/ 9,000 rpm.
