Hitcher is right - Hornet is good.
A new Bonneville is a beautiful motorcycle in that price range too.

I agonised over the choice of a new Bonnie at $13k and the Hornet at $11k.

What got me to buy the Hornet was the weight, power and torque figures. I see a Bonnie as a starting point, something you'd need to spend some money on to make it go like it should, whereas the Hornet is "Turn key" and as fast as I want to go. Very comfy two up too, Im told.

I didnt win Big Wednesday, so am not ordering a Scrambler today.

but your "C" would be 100 pounds lighter than the Scrambler. so pwr to weight would be better. Get the May CW when it comes out (or I can photocopy the test for ya if you dont mind B & W).. PM me if you want it.

The hornet has to be about the best value new bike around at the mo. SV thou's are nice too, having ridden one of them they are comfy and a lot of fun. The SP1's I was completely under impressed with, there was just no spark with it. Look cool tho (except that fugly dash).

Take a few bikes out for a ride. You havent really said what your preference is style wise, but I reckon that if I was looking around in that budget for the travel you're talking about, I'd be lining up to take the hornet for a test ride for sure.

Well I like the naked bikes and from what i have read up and heard on here will take the big Hornet for a spin and the SV

I have a few investments so am going to splash out...now i am looking I keep looking at the bikes in the 20k mark wonder if i can get an extra 5k. That might be my home work for tonight
P
