Nah, it'll be okay so long as visibility is good, foot traffic is light, and he doesn't run into oncoming pedestrians. But the moment he does, the officers will have to stop running, take off their uniform and proceed at walking pace on the left hand side of the footpath.

This is true. The only dickhead cop I've met was a farmboy from down Waikato way, he was a young fella, probably fresh out of the farm. The rest have all been level headed and honest.
