    The wickedest thing

There's only about 750 thrads on here about the inaugral Scared Sheep Squadro day at Champion Dragway today, so I wont go into the details in this thread. But while at the day (which will be the social event of the year), a momentus revelation came to me which I've got to share.

Take a K3/4 Gixxer thou, (IMO) the best bike on the planet. Do some cool stuff like bigger brake discs, radial master cylinder, sorted suspension, nice piep. The usual. Add some more ponies, liiiiiiike.....70 more than stock by way of a turbo. Chuck the keys at some lunatic (namely Trash) and say "Have ago, tell me what you think"

    Well. Fuck me.

Words cannot describe what 220 REAR WHEEL horse power feels like. You gas it (a little) through the first 3 gears and think, MY GOD. as the rear wheel's spinning, you drop a bit of throttle to control it. And the front elevates.

Hang on. I'm closing the throttle, and the front's lifting? That's wrong. Hook 4th, no better. Fuck this, I'll shortshift 5th and feed it the message.

    Wrong!

5th gear, 230 kph on the speedo and this thing wants to loop out, I shit you not. Off the throttle, no brain required. Sick, SICK shit.

Anything you've read about turboed bikes being peaky, scary, hard to ride piles of shit? All crap, every single word of it. This feels like a K3 Gixxer thou' with 70 more hp. Where? Everywhere. From 3-13 thou' it wants haul arse, I simply can't describe the rideability torque available.

Gotta say, the tuner of this machine is a fuckin' genius. To look at, you'd be hard pressed to see it. It's a little quieter than most bikes. Difference is, other bikes don't stretch your arms 6 inchs after being on them 12 seconds.

Heeee-Uge thanks to the owner for letting me ride his pride and joy, I'm still gobsmacked.

To all you other plebs, I've ridden a bike with MotoGP power. Read 'em and weap.

Nice read up WT. Sounds like aa oppertunity you would have kicked yourself if you had let it slide.

Awesome write up Trash, it sounds incredible...definitely something on the list of things to do before I die...sounds like I'd best cross the other stuff off first though.

I'd be interested to see how it does in lap times in competent hands though.

Some UK mag (Bike I think?) has this test track that they punt various bikes around, with the K5 thou' holding the record at 3mins flat or therabouts.

They had a turbo'd K1 on it in one issue though, and the thing got served by all of the standard litre bikes, and I think all 600's. It also had Ohlins at both end, and plenty of other good stuff, not just a power bike. They reckoned that it just didn't work in the slower speed sections, they couldn't feed the gas in smoothly. Maybe that set up was just shit?

got a pic of it, the way its been installed you wouldnt think it was non-standard. I called texmo over and he said "yeh what?" when i said look at this, then i told him there was a turbo there and his jaw dropped.

I heard WT talking some shit about 6th gear wheelies and i just thought he was being a twat and talking himself up, least now i know it was all in the bike

WARNING Dumb newbie question coming up:

A very sweet bike indeed. I spent a bit of time talking to the owner - nice guy - and I think I may have been converted to the dark side of "Gixxer".

My dumb question is "why did it not get the fastest time yesterday?"

Tell me to piss off and read some books if you think that is what I need to do.

I am guessing it take a bit of practice to control all those horses and not end up going into orbit!
