as enthralling as all this banter about skewered penises undoubtably is ... back to the topic fellas!

i read the thread - it was boring
i thought that posting it here was inappropriate - but hey, its an open forum

.... now, before the bleeding-heart brigade start thowing things at me, please remember that i'm normally first in defending the helpless .....

but in this instance, i'm with you, sarge ......... over/under eating MAY be a problem, but its a self-inflicted one

[and bleeding about it in public ain't gonna help matters as the reaction to the thread proved....]

If you all really want to have a sociological discussion about eating disorders, I'll copy the non-personal posts in a new thread for you.

Wonder if someone posted about their fight with cancer or heart disease they'd get the same response?

After all the fitness nazis keep telling me that heart disease and high blood pressure are caused by a bad life style.

Biker with a problem being slagged off by other bikers is never a good look.

I gave up on that thread after the first 1/2 dozen replies. Sorry see it went the way I thought it would. It's an issue that shouldn't turn to shit like that.

Lucky I'm never going to be a mod. I would have closed this just for the title. Just dooooooo iiiit!

I do think that threads are being locked a little too much though, why not just let it fizzle out by itself in PD?

No Ixion, they wouldnt get the same response.. you cannot choose whether or not you get those.. yes they are caused by a lifestyle choice, but all the namby-pamby feelgood therapy sessions are not going to get you through them.... they are true physical diseases.. not a mental malfunction like ED's, addiction or depression..

people who bin make a life-shanging lifestyle choice also..

thats a whole other thread though..

Perhaps not. I don't know much about eating disorders , or anything of that nature. Only thing I've ever been addicted to is biking. Which is why I kept quiet in the original thread, being as how I had nothign to contribute.

But I do know if a mate is hurting (and I'll class all bikers as mates until they prove otherwise), I'll do what I can to help him or her. Don't really care to stand in judgement over others, so I'll help if I can, whatever the cause. If I can't help I'll keep out the way and leave it others who, hopefully can.

ok... great.. you have and ED and you fight for control over it and win.. that, as i have said before.. takes guts and willpower and all that ..big ups to someone who can get back to normal after wrecking their health like that ..

i smoke.. have smoked for 30 years.. i tried quitting ... many times.. no joy.. does that mean that i have a disease because i cant kick the cigs?..im killing myself,, same as an addict or someone with ED's.. but who is going to 'cure' me of my illness?..

    me

im the only one who knows how to do it. im the only one who can make that conscious decision to kick the cigs and start being """NORMAL"""..

Shazzgirl who created that Eating Disorder thread from my point of view was not looking for help, just other people who had/have the same problem to talk with.

I have an eating disorder, just like Sarge.

    My heart bleedeth purple piss.
