    People that are an inspiration...

    Hey everyone,

Well as most of you know, i had bad accident on the track, and due to this i get the pleasure (that is very sarcastic tone) of spending a bit of time in hospital for different surgeries...

I was in hospital last week having surgery on my foot, and in my ward there was an old guy there... I got on with him really well and was having a great yarn with him (thus making my stay in hospital more enjoyable)... He was in reasonably good health, looked young (in his early 70's) and could still walk and still had his drivers licence...

We got talking about bike and my crash and how he used to do beach racing at Muriwai, as well as talking about the Waiheke TT....

THEN I FOUND OUT HIS AGE!!! BLOODY 91!!! Not only do i wish to make 30 years old (some say it wont happen hehehe) But if i make that age i hope to be sane, talkative and be able to get on with and chat to someone 70 years younger!!!

I know there is alot of people out there that inspire others (for instance other top racers inspire me) but he was just one of the small everyday ones that i thought i would mention...

At 91 he has had a failry good innings. Good to hear that there are motrcyclists in the 90's. It was starting to get the impression that we were a bit like helicopters pilots

Old people like that are awesome, one guy goes to my gym who is 91, full of stories and used to do pretty technical electric stuff for telecom. Here's me thinking he don't know a thing! Hehehe. Ghostrider is a good inspiration too though right?

I try to meet people everyday. Not just say "hi how are ya?" but have a yran to them. That's part of what KB is about too. There are people who you wouldn't know have done some fantastic things in their lives unless you talk to them. I just hope that somewhere down the track I've got something interesting to say and someone who wants to hear it.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

very true mate....while on the subject....it quite inspiring hearing about your progress and ups and downs over the past year and a half I've been on here...the people that have blind faith in your talent and abilities as a rider and as a genuwine guy...and you don't and I guess won't ever...if you can...let them down....theres alot of inspirtation around in the world....few people acctually take the time to see it...and aspire to live there dreams...live their lives...for fear of failure...but their biggest failure in life is that they havn't lived...
