    Bike noise

    Hi

so got pulled up the other night they got me for a bunch of shit which i aint gonna get into but
they got me for 'noisy vehicle'
its pretty fucking loud but they reckon theres no decibel limit now? so is this one more law that relys on whether the pig has been getting laid or not lately? all these decisions which go on the cops decision are fucking bullshit and im fucked if im paying my money to support it
they reckon they heard me 'ringing' it out for a while, according to the prick officer anyway
what do you guys think/know about this?
oh, i deresticted my fizzer and took out one of the baffle pipes, theres still like 4 in there so if they want loud ill give them loud

Take all the baffles out and make it really noisey, then blast up and down Godley rd making a lot of noise to piss the Cops off. Then pretty soon we'll so many noise restrictions we'll have to put amps on our exhausts to hear them.

It's all in your hands....you control our destiny....

Don't worry about your effing valves sunshine, keep making that much noise and it will be as Motu said.

Young guys have all the self-preservation instincts of a lemming, it is people like that who 'think' they are not doing any harm and 'think' Fuck the Cops but upset the oldies - and the oldies make the rules/laws that you hate.
    Welcome to the real world.

And by the way, you COULD get done for Using a Vehicle to Cause Annoyance to Any Person, cost? - $600!!!

Well worth taking the baffles out, good entertainment don't come cheap eh?

Shame that's not used more often. If the number of noisy 'boy racer' cars at the Mount in the middle of the afternoon is anything to go by, the evenings must be totally unbearable.
I'm becoming more and more anti noise, then I hear my bike. What a conundrum.

I love a noisy bike too - but it's going to get us in the shit.Play it cool and we'll have statis quo, push the boundries and the the 12 foot fences with razor wire and armed guards go up.

I'm the same, except strangely enough, I'm starting to think my bike is too loud too.
I've even been tempted lately to put the 'stealth' restrictor back in the zorst.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

I am anti-noise just for noise sake which is what a lot of boy racers have on their crappy Mazda Familias. Noise from a properly tuned machine is a different story. It's like symphony under the stars......

Those cagers who I can hear coming down my street at 50,000rpm and warp speed will encounter a missile coming from my front yard soon

Ha ha, does anyone know where a reasonably law-abiding citizen might be able to purchase one of those "stinger" devices?

How about rigging up a life-size cutout of a child to spring up like those gunnery range targets and the give the b'stards a heart attack?

i'm not against noise. in fact, thumping v-twin or howling inlines are the stuff of symphonies. i don't even mind a well tuned bridgeport, sweet skyline 6, or a well horned suby, but drony shite out the back of a crappy 4 cyliner rice paper fucktards excuse for a boy racer's car just pisses me off.

expanding foam works well in the neighbourhood wanky exhaust.

    apparantly.

although i have heard this morning that there is someone on my ride-to-work route that doesn't hold the howl of the busa in the same regard as i do. although i wouldn't call 5000rpm (in 6th) howling. 8000rpm is more like howling, but they do live in the middle of a big s-bend....

YES! and why do they wear their caps with the brim off to one side? As far as I am concerned this is the universal sign of the congenital idiot. Stupid Shites

And F'in blow-off valves. Anyone using one vented to the atmosphere should be shot.

A friend of mine has an exhaust system complete with muffler exiting in front of the rear wheel for his wastegate.Haven't these dorks heard the term sleeper? If your car is really fast, you don't advertise.....it appears the opposite is more common.

Ah, now how do I explain my position without causing offense or inviting allegations of hypocrisy? Hmm... well here goes -

I like noisy exhausts. I've raced noisy cars. I've owned noisy non-race cars. But one of my familias had a 4 inch exhaust when I bought it. Like WTF? The first car I've ever owned that I paid money to put a smaller exhaust on it (2.5). I believe if it doesn't enhance performance then I see no point in it. So a "performance" exhaust that happens to be loud, I agree with. But a "loud" exhaust that offers no significant performance gain - wankers.

Blow off valves - they serve a purpose. But like exhausts, there's blow off valves, and then there's blow HARD valves. A "quiet" BOV can be just as effective as a noisy one. And of course, they rely on their being boost pressure to expel in the first place, so if you haven't got your foot up it, it doesn't make noise.

My bike has a beautiful factory exhaust on it. And it's staying that way as long as I own it. It's so quiet I wear ear plugs because of the wind noise, not the exhaust. Makes it factory standard to insure, makes it easier to hide (cos it's quiet when you're riding it nicely), and means my neighbours don't even notice it. And I like my neighbours. And they like me. And that's how I want it to stay thank you! The less environmental noise the better as far as I'm concerned.

I've done the obnoxious, loud is good, let's stick it to the pigs thing. I'm still keen on sticking it to 'em when I can. You can win battles with cops one on one, but you won't win the war. It's the average joe that you'll piss off. And it's those average joes who will be celebrating when the govt brings in legislation banning non-factory exhausts and imposing stupidly low noise levels, meaning that you won't legally be able to ride a performance orientated bike on the road. None of us want to see that happen, including you.
