Welcome to KB! How about coming on tonight's ride?

    http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=25809

Meet at 6pm, Avalon Park. Even if you don't want to come for the ride, you could come meet people and sit on bikes... and let the temptation seep in slowly... heh heh heh...

What he said. Come for a ride and have a sit. It's really not that high!

Maybe the seat height thing won't be such an issue after you get used to the bike on the road? It's a thought. When I got my 636 the seat was higher than what I was used to from the FZR, and the riding position was way more upright. But my initial concerns disappeared as I got used to the bike.

You're not a redhead who parked a blueish GN on Grey St today?

Welcome neats, another chic to hang with, kewl! The GN is a great bike, sometimes miss mine (like when I wanna pick the hornet up and move it, lol). I lowered the hell out of the hornet due to having stubby legs, got a custom seat from Mcdonald trimmers in Tauranga, awesome seats, and then got an Ohlins shock put in it, but it isn't cheap to do this, infact, I think it would be running close to half of what a fxr is worth. Hope to see ya out on the roads or maybe on the newbe ride in a week or two.

I think you're thinking about his RG, which is now mine. I'm pretty sure Beemer was the one who did the mods to it originally (she was the very first owner). You should PM her about it.

Take it to Paraparaumu, it'll come back scraping along the ground with chopped springs

Be careful though it will also probably be painted a pastel colour and have a rotary in it

Another suggestion: Instead of lowering the bike, why not wear high heels instead???

    Welcome to the madhouse anyway.

I've seen these scary stiletto heeled biker boots in a couple of shops. One imagines they are designed for pillions, but someone somewhere must ride in them...
And the chicks on 'fast dates' and similar calendars generally wear big heels, so it must be possible (and they are riding much larger and more powerful bikes than the FXR)

Unrelated (and serious) note: See if you can get on standby for the Taupo trackday. It would be cool to have lots of other noobies to hang out with.
