    vmx

Probably mentioned this before, I am a wee bit interested in VMX or Vintage Mx , the ole bones are starting to creak. !
Anyway I have a 1986 roling chassis with a 1985 engine, Now I know the chassis was used before 85 so should be eligable.
Anyway , I am looking at 2 bikes here both Cr80 the old red racers ,,twin shocks and red engine, question is are they usable in VMX.
I think it would be a great kids bike and from what I have seen VMX looks like a nice family atmosphere
Are there any younguns racing there?? would a cr 80 be any use???

I would be intrested to see some pics of these beasts Brian! I don't know if they actually would have a class for the older 80cc'ers in VMX, as most are 125cc+.
Worth a crack tho mate. keep us posted and put up some pictures

80's would be racing against 125's.

The classes are usually based on years.
    Pre 85 pre 80 pre 75 etc
Also in Nelson we do smallbore (up to 250-4 125-2), midbore (up to 350-4 250-2), fullbore (whatever), open 2, and open 4.

It's cool 'cause my 250-4 lets me go in smallbore, midbore, fullbore, open-4, pre 80, pre 85
    You get very knackered

Oop north 125cc 2 smokes are very popular esp. in pre 86.

Oh and VMX is the only place nowdays you hear the words "750cc twin" and "motorcross" in the same sentence.

Thats a hard call 80 s against 125 ...if it was a kids class cool ...tough one that !

Anyway this one is a touch expensive sitting at 40 000 now lande in NZ around 1000 NZ

Still I have a 250 ...I liked the write up on the kiwi Vmx Site about the track , lots of air ..

is it just me . when I see a pile of dirt I just feel like spanking the bytch and getting airborne

    any way heres the photo

The 80cc wouldn't win but it'd probably spank most of our 250 4's
