also heard speculation of an event held there.... i will certainly be buying tickets if that is the case. also heard through the grapevine that the waikaraka (sp) park speedway area is talked about for sx.

Just found these old pix from the Waikaraka supercross 1991. I love (watching) SX, the more the merrier......Sure do miss nipping down to the Taupiri track with the kids.

The floor space needed for supercross isn't really that much! the Vector floor would be heapsa room I would'a thought.

nah man ive been there a few times, its very small floor space wise
plenty of seats in the upper bowl but cant imagine a supercross there
would be cool but would be very one lined track

ill check it out on thrusday when im moshing to "Korn".
I thought their was plenty of room when i went to see linkon park. more room then at the recent auckland SX round.
But will be hard to fill the place up i reckon , hard to cover the cost, etc

Now it was my first EVER time on a MotoX track. Shits you the first few times hitting the jumps, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. there is only two nasty(ish) jumps that aren't table tops, but it's a nice track. Easy and quick to get to. Only 8 people there when I went there and I had a Blast!

the track owner smoked a bit too much weed to keep the place running, its a shame being so close in auckland

His Dad owned the land and it was only there till the land compacted a bit as it was an old landfill. They got consent to build and the track went. Pity it was nice having somewhere so close to ride. Those 2 huge table tops were massive. I never quite managed to clear them.

they are apprantly, although when the manakau city council got absorbed by the super city i think it went on the back burner, the person who has the contract will build an unreal track when he gets the chance
