    Anyone been to Rangitaiki recently?

Just wondering what to expect up there. Anyone able to update where to go/park etc? Where to find trails?

Thinking of going next Sun as the Raukawa trail ride was cancelled.

You mean Rangitaiki on the Napier / Taupo road?

When I ride with Taupo locals we park on the grass out the front of the pub. The best trail is from the grass head down the track, take a right, ride a few 100m on wide open track and take a left into the 'forest'. There's a cool track through there which ends up on top of a ridge. That leads into a 'native' bush bit which is also good fun. Just follow it round and you'll end up doing a big loop to the car park. There's also a cool trail that heads out to the 'stream crossing'. It's a nightmare to find if you don't have someone leading the way though. Heaps of wide open track riding that can get a bit boring.

There's also the natural MX park bit a bit further north. If you've been there before you'll know where I mean. Below is a little clip of us riding in January. Uploaded in a shitty format so save my broadband.
