Full system exhausts

How many here have put a full system on their bike and had to remove the back pressure valve thing by whichever name it goes on the particular bike?

I just put one on and it's mean, except runs like a mutt with bird flu below 2000rpm. Now I never thought this would be a problem, but I've started a new job this week and commuting to work is a pain in the ass, especially in the wet when you've got to ride the clutch while doing a u-turn in front of an oncoming bus.

Will getting a custom map help this particular problem much?

Where's the best place to go for one? I was going to go to Ray Clee, figuring he'd have a bit of knowledge about this stuff, but the seller recommended GP Motorcycles in Tauranga, saying that they had the DynoJet Dyno or something like that.

thought about a power commander to help the issue? eBay is a cheap place to look..


oh, and if a cop sees you pulling right out of the drive on a no-right junction, nail it, or go up the road a bit and pull into one of the drives on the right next to the bus shelter

Got a PC3 already actually BJ...it does fuel better than before once past that 2 thou' mark...

haha...I'm bound to get sprung going right towards the South-bound motorway on-ramp some day soon...

just turn left out the drive, go into the middle of the road, then turn right into the bus stop/drive, then just nail it.. I do it all the time. It's a U turn then, and there's nothing wrong with U turns

Anything GP trading can do, Ray Clee can do better. Difference is, how much do you wanna spend?

There's a reason Andrew Stroud and Ray are always at the front mate.

Yeah, I've got a bit of faith in the Ray Clee name, I'm sure he can do a good job.

I don't mind paying a bit more to get it done absolutely right. $200ish, $300 at most. It wouldn't cost more than this I assume?

Yeah there was a bit of traffic today so I did that...but if it's clear I can't be arsed and just gun it. That new on-ramp layout has quite a nice corner, and you're protected from the view of the motorway traffic for a few metres so can pull a sneaky little wheelie without much risk if you feel the need (which you do after work)

Ah, I was hoping you wouldn't ask Winja...it's a 'FUCKIN SACK OF SHIT HONDA FIREBLADE (929) THAT'S NOT EVEN AS FAST AS A GIXXER 750'.

Actually it's not as fast as a K1 or later 750 I don't reckon. Goes ok up to 240 but I think from then on it's really missing the ram air...struggles a bit. Won't be a bad bike once the forks are sorted.

I think the filter is ok.

Shouldn't take much sorting from a pro...and it will be better everywhere else too...

I got this second hand...I'm just using the one that the previous owner had on there, which he said was the one for the exhaust.

(edit: the exhaust and PC3 came from the same dude)

have a look on www.dynojet.com search through the fuel maps...see if theres some thing there to try....no harm in trying.... might save ya alot of $$$ if something works well!!

Cheers poos, I'll take a look at that.

All the Americans reckon that there's nothing quite like a custom map, but yeah, I'll try these ones first, definitely no harm in trying. Gotta get the bike out of shit city more though, so that I can assess the performance at higher rpm's.
