2L icecream container lid should do it.

    Well done PB.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

So now you are on the lookout for a battery cover...
I hope it wont be too expensive to replace it..
    Cheers all,

Its my girlfriends bike so I might not say anything an wait until she drives it and let her notice its gone.....and then replace it becoming an instant hero..she loves this bike so much she never drives it hence me having to charge the battery last night and not putting the cover on correctly and the shakey bike over 100km might have helped in its release

Mind you she still said i am allowed a new bike but I am waiting until the full is complete so I can insure it and all that stuff.....

I am not a racer (Yet)as i think i am a bit older and a bit wiser at 34 years of age just need a good bike to get to and from work.

    congrats pasty!!

for the battery cover....when/if you get a replacement cover, or any future bikes with removeable covers, take the covers off and drill 2 small holes either side...then slip a plastic zip tie through and pull tight....
dad did this to my bike, and also to my previous bike after one got stolen years ago. also stops them from flying off. even seen ones held on with a short length of a chain, a bolt and some washers.
works the same, but the chains mean when they are removed for maintinence, they dont have to sit on the ground and get scratched.
got a friend with a same model bike, and i nearly got hit when his did come off at around 110k....very lucky.

no worries.....maybe try trademe for a replacement, if you can get a decent one....not sure how easy to find parts are for your bike.

best of luck finding a part!

Hey pastybee! That was me stopped at the lights on the Hutt motorway and said hi today. I wondered if you were a kiwibiker... Wasn't trying to be antisocial when I buggered off fast at the lights - I was trying to get home quickly to pick up oldest son from Keas tonight.

Congratulations again on the restricted. You lucky bugger. Getting to do the takas every day on the way to work.

Looking forward to seeing you on the daily commute.

    Simon
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
