    Nolan 102

Hey, have you guys seen the new nolan helmets, they have an accesory coms kit that fits into them, microphone and speakers with a blue tooth wireless unit for either cell phone or bike to bike communications.

Just need to find some bastard that sells them in NZ, or if anyone knows where I can buy one in the UK, am going over in June to do a bike tour of Scotland with the Wife. would like to buy one before then or over there.

    any help would be appreciated.

The whole point of riding a motormacycle is so you don't have to talk to the wife.

    Fool.

Expensive if it breaks, although sitting outside a house while someone is talking on bluetooth phone to 0900 DIRTYGIRL, you could have some fun.

I've got one on order from AMPS, on the slow boat from Italy (Been 3 weeks & counting). I've also seen a selection of them at MOTOMAIL. The N-com system hasn't been released here yet as they're still gripping up the system & pricing. The blue tooth kit can't go in other helmets, as it fits into a cutout in the cheek on the left hand side (That Trapeziodal cover pops off to accomodate it.) Check out the system specs on www.nolan.it .I've also googled n-com with good results. They should be readily available in the UK.

    Arrow Hey.

I'm with Jim2 on this one. I allways turn my phone off and just enjoy the riding. I understand that some people can't survive without their phone? Me, I can't survive without my bikes, best part of a cellphone is that you can turn the poxy thing off...

I have a flip front Shoei at the moment...have loved it but did you realise they don't offer any real chin protection and are about the same as an open face. Saw one the other day, Shark I think that stated on helmet that it offered no chin protection.

Just someting to keep in mind.

That is a point... I might be in the market for a helmet with all the gadgetry for talking to pillions... Keep wife loving me, and awake when on the bike!! Problem is I don't want to hardwire anything on.
I saw a similiar helmet from BMW, reputed to be very quiet, and baehr advertised in Kiwi rider. 1200 bucks per helmet I think... not sure if they are flip front or not...

Try closer to $2k per helmet with the BMW bluetooth fitted! (they are flip front)

The Baehr ones are 1200... Wasn't sure what the beemer ones were worth, but figured it would be more than I would want to spend!!

Shouldn't be too hard. i've got the schematics somewhere I remember one of my tutor gave me when I was still in school, if I can find it I'll give it to you.
It only takes 2 plastic cups and 1 piece of string....

I always hassled old people about technology, and how hard could it be, until one day I wanted to play a vinyl LP... My goodness! took me like 20 minutes to figure it out!!!
So, yeah, maybe the high tech way will be simple enough for me to understand
If you can pull out your schematics, they may be worth some money since the turn of the century!!
