    Talking 1st Bike :devil2:

Hey guys, im just lookn to get a bike.
Just sortn out the licence and then off to test ride some..

I've read the other thread, below but am also curious about the differences in cost/maintinance in the nsr / tzr compaired to the cbr/r/rr / zxr / gsxr.

I know a bit about bikes, as I used to do MX so i'm not worry'd about powerbands kickn in etc

And if anyone knows of any being sold at a reasonable price in auckland

    Thanks
    Josh

Well as you probably know from MX, 4 strokes have less maitainence than 2 strokes, the TZR/NSR/RGV are renouned for needing constant maintanace and engine rebuilds every 20-30000kms.....

like two smoker siad you they are most expensive in maintance cost than a 4 cylinder, but in turn are more fun to ride, but on the down side, they aren't very good for doing commuting on, or for riding in the wet when you hit the power band.

But if ya come from mx bikes, you will understand the difference, and maintaice needed. As long as you treat 2 stokes, well they should go well, use good 2 stoke oil, service them regular chain plugs regular ya should have a good run. let that lapse and you have a time bomb on ya hands

Oi! 'Made on the computer'? I'll have a little more respect out of you, laddie! Didn't you read my recent thread where I posted the full-size photo? See "Safe, responsible 'ooligan behaviour" in the Road Bikes forum.

The little 4s can still be expensive to maintain, especially if youre not neglecting the valve adjustments. Seem to be hard on clutches. The zxr camchain tensioner likes to play silly buggers. It adds up.

And im sure the cbr has its own little things that would go wrong also? and is just as costly to fix?

Thats why CBR's have gear driven cams

Honestly, the CBR's never have any problems with anything as long as you take care of them and do the oil changes etc every 5000-10000 kms etc.

Hope you find a good bike.

All I can say dude is 4 stroke single.
theres the cbx250 or even the cb250 rs, yamaha do a nakkid single in road bike rather than chopper form so do suzuki.
Simple to work on and cheap to run--and performance aint too bad either.--not in stroker territory but not bad at all

Nah, that's just left over scrap from the vfr's. And that silly bent swingarm... That's just a cock up they threw on from something else.
