    Good oil for a kx250

I have just finished the last of my motul 800T but wasn't that impressed with it, seem to blow a lot more smoke and the exhaust is alot blacker than when I started using it.

Has anyone got any recommendations for some good oil to use?

    I'm running 50:1

Actually I've noticed that my RM has been smoking like shit on the old Motul..... Maybe my crank seal has poped out again... LOL jokes!

Colemans had some strawberry scented two stroke oil.... HAHAHAHA

At 50:1 I wouldn't think you'd see any smoke at all,or pus in your exhaust.Mind you I once ran a fancy new high tech oil that would back factory waranties at 100:1,and it was the smokiest pre mix I've ever used, worse than a lawnmower.Maybe they put the smoke in to keep peoples mind at rest on 100:1.I use Silkolene Comp 2 Plus SX and it only smokes on start up,just poured in Castrol TTS synthetic and no smoke either....but I have a pump.

I don't think it's motuls problem but your mixing or measurements are wrong. just my opinion, I have had no problems running motul in most of my bikes.

Hey there...despite the fact they may've been joking, the crank seal comment could be pretty close to the mark. I'm sure you're no doubt keeping an eye on the gearbox oil level, but it takes fuck all from there to make them smoke like hell. (partly because that shit doesn't burn nearly as cleanly).
I've had good results in the past with PJ1 products, Belray too.
But despite the makers of modern two stroke oils claims that 50:1 etc is safe and good, hard as it is to believe, most two strokes will make more power and torque at levels closer to 30:1 (better ring sealing, at the slight risk of a little more power valve cleaning required).

HRC know a thing or two about 2 stoke performance, and an RS250 GP bike is recommended to be between 20:1-30:1.
