    Question Anyone see this yesterday

Here's a photo from yesterday's NZ Herald. So what, you may ask? Well for starters, it was in the business section and was the lead story on dealing with executive stress. The guy in the photo is none other than Simon Moutter, the Chief Operating Officer of NZ Telecom. It was a nicely written article, light on gee-whizz and hype with plenty on what top execs do to balance their lives. It reports that he regularly does trackdays at the Manfield circuit and has a penchant for tear-arsing up and down a particular coastal road which is a personal favourite of mine. Hopefully with this publicity, I'll be mistaken for him by Plod next time I'm behaving like a pillock.

Nice to see that the 'bird is the thinking man's bike of choice, hehe.

Yeah, I saw this. I have my love of biking on my CV and try to get it front of people like this..... One day I'll get an intervew where I spend five minutes talking about the job and the rest of the time about bikes!

    Know what you mean....

Quite a few of the managers at our pulp and paper mill are serious bikers, so there's a heap of bike talk at our meetings on Mondays and Fridays!

I've had successful applications for two jobs in my past career that I can directly attribute to riding bikes.

We've got a high proportion of motorcyclists in this building too, with several of my team leaders/managers/tech specs having bikes and at least one other girl in the building too.

    Good on you!

I have riding bikes on my CV too. Reckon it helps to show that you have a balanced life, i.e that you actually have a life outside work

My boss has a Honda CB1000 "Big One" naked muscle bike which he imported second hand from Japan after seeing it during a marketing trip to Tokyo. It had only done 5000 km and lots of trick stuff on it. He landed it back here for $10000 all up! Got to admire his style, great deals to be had by direct visits!

We've got about a dozen pretty serious bikers in our building. (including several KB'ers!!)
