Funny crashes

So Driftin and his boy are up for Easter, The TAzman decided to spend Friday night with us too. So we thought we'd better show the Welly boys what shenanagins we get up to on the weekends.

Loaded the quad and minimoto in to the cars, I rode the pit bike and we set off for our secret test track. The Tazman (by his own admission)needs alot of wheelie practice so he donned the safety gear and took off on the pittie, launching the front off tree roots and whatever lofters he could find.

Tristan meanwhile had his minimoto warmed up and was setting some hot laps and getting into his groove. After a few laps I turn just in time to see his feet of the pegs, the hell tank slapper going on, heading straight ahead on a turn with the throttle wide open. He hits the gutter square and gets tossed over the front, into the grass as the bike cartwheels end for end about 4 times. Bent the forks and all. Brilliant.

In the meantime, Driftin thought he was getting pretty handy at the ol' wheelies on the pittie. Couple of one handers later and he KNOWS he's the man. So I wrestle the bike off him and bust out a few monos while standing on the seat.

Driftin reckons this is a piece off piss so he's next. Getting quite a bit of elevation with little control. We only had one minute of tape left in the camera so I knew I had to get the money shot. Waited till he got a little bit confident then egged him on with a couple of "Is that all ya got ya pussy" type coments. True to form, with 15 seconds of tape left, he steps straight off the back of the thing mid wheelie.

Riff raff got in a bit of solid practice on the wheelie front, sorting out the basics and getting the front wheel a little higher each time, grinning like a mad thing constantly.

Mr Me also deserves a mention for his rolling high chair stoppies on the minimoto. (After we did a front end change)

So wicked day all 'round, thanks to Tazman for making the effort, maybe some of those other Wellington homos will come up for a play one weekend. Thanks to Driftin for giving me some competition and egging me on and REAL big thanks to Riff raff for videoing the procceedings.

Mint day. Might do it again today I think.

Sure did. And you probably will pay to see it if it makes the grade.

The kid's fine, bit of a bump to the head and a sore knee. The Eden (my eldest daughter) high sided the quad. Then Tristan did the same. I think Riff raff was the only one not sporting an injury at the end of the day.

Actually I got that footage on the digi camera. So here it is. Sorry folks, Tristan's mint crash was on the vid cam and I can't get that on to PC to upload for you.
