Drove from Blenheim to kaikoura on friday and passed 10 police cars all with 2+ cops in them... luckily they were going north for the weekend..... but thats a lot of cops on a normally quiet stretch....

I think that's their breeding ground.
    Speed doesn't kill people.

I had to go to Wellington yesterday and must have seen close to 10 cops on the way there and back. Thankfully I wasn't doing anything to attract their attention but it was the most I've ever seen - apart from at the end of passing lanes on holiday weekends...
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

If you go 250kmh, the police turn there lights off and give up ... honestly they do! It's worked like 3-4 times now.

Number 1 rule though ..... Don't try pulling a runner down a no exit road, it only ends in trouble.
I wave to every biker I see.

Is that before or after they have your plate
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

Is this as a result of Winston Peters "more police" are they just putting more of them out on the roads to collect more revenue?

More revenue, their getting told off for not issueing their quota because people are conserving gas and the governments income from fuel has gone down.

was in dunedin in the long weekend visiting brother among other things. was doing 120 on the open road by Kyburn, when a cop came around the corner, the only thing he did was flash his headlights and do the. If i had been in auckland it would have 3 figure fine and demerit points. so i would say the definitly operate in a different way. i actually stayed around a 100 k's for the rest of the way to dunedin
Its all about the game and how you play it.

I took someone to the airport this morning (left home at 4:15am) and saw 3 cops looking like they were checking peoples speed. Worst thing is a car ran a red light in front of me and he (the cop) didn't do anything about it.
