With laser? Its a wee dot that gets aimed at the subject vehicle, even at a few 100 metres its bloody hard to miss.

With half of NZ living in a 100k radius of AK, have you every wondered who paid the taxes 4 you to get good roads?

OK to quantify. I guess I should never say never but I've never locked two vehicles at the same time.

A few years ago on a poor laser I saw it show that a fence was travelling at 15km/h during a distance calibration check!! There have been different models around over the years some good and some bad I guess, and the yanks probably have different ones again.

Having said that I've had a blade or two of rye grass (or whatever stalky crap is that grows on the side of the road), prevent a lock on a guy in a drag car who must have got up to something approaching 200k I guess. (That was on a ProLaser II.) By he time it eventually locked, he had returned to about 130. He was quite relieved to pay a smallish fine and kept his licence. There was a rise in the ground between that guy and I, and the grass on the top caused the no-lock.

My experience shows lasers are quite fussy before they lock.
The tread goes around that far for a reason...

None so blind as those who will not see... :-)

Apparently some people just to the north of the Bombays have forgotten that the whole country recently had an additional tax added to their fuel purchases to pay for Aucklands broken-arsed roading infrastructure.

Just triple their bloody rates so that they are finally paying something realistic and they'll be able to afford water, electricity, and roading, along with anything else that has been neglected for so long it has atrophied.

That tax is just trying to recoup a small part of Aucks tax revenue that was used to buy votes for the National party in marginal electorates over the past 30 years.

Not doubting you Lou but why would they bother?
I thought with the volume of traffic up your way there would be plenty of 'easy' targets??

You're forgetting that the average m/way speed is 37.5 km/h. Although that is up from 2003's 33 km/h.
    Easy targets?
Only if you lie about the speed check.
