was going to write the whole thing in me blog[juice], but since it's getting so close, and since I've got dirty big new discs on it (and aside from a few people asking), I thought I'd post up a couple of pics of where the bike is at, at the moment. There's two pics, of how I got the bike (20 July!!) and a couple of pics of where it's at as of today.
The new front discs were fitted, along with new brake pads, then the laborious task of pressurizing the system with brake fluid. With out the aid of a vacuum pump, something that can take a couple of hours. Well, 30 mins later, and we've got brakesConsidering they haven't worked for over a year, it worked bloody quick and well. And to get a perspective of what the previous owner treated the bike like, this is one of the pads from the front caliper. All the pads (including the rear) are like this, believe it or not, which is why it called for new discs (being at just under 4mm & 3.5mm thick, the limit being 4.5mm).
Not a lot more to finish up now, just fitting the lower fairing, airfilter fitted (should really order that), warrant and rego, and the beast is back, and then up for sale.
Tomorrow - it starts for the first time in a year.. just got to fit the new leads and double check it all, and we'll see if she goes
just felt excited and wanted to share
Full report on the rebuild to come in blogjuice (plus a shameless plug)
