I liked this:
Regardless, Aprilia is probably the only motorcycle manufacturer that has hit hard times due in part to the vanity of Italian women. Aprilia was, for years, a scooter-producing powerhouse in Italy, churning out neat little scooters by the millions for the European public to ride. It was very common to see untold numbers of Italian women commuting on Aprilia scooters in the mid-1990s. Then, the helmet laws changed and the new regs required all scooter pilots in Italy to wear helmets. If you know any middle-aged native women in Italyyou know they are manically concerned about their appearance, and there is little chance of them crushing their coif with a helmet on their way to work. Post-helmet-law, Aprilia's scooter sales which were once the company's bread and butter, tanked by over 65% at one point.
