    Different smells while riding

Random idea for a thread but when you're riding you're met by a few smells. Which ones do you like and which ones don't you?

I don't like silage(sp?), cattle trucks and diesel.
I like pine, fresh cut grass and the sea.

I don't like farts in my leathers as they drift up to my helmet.

Edit: Does anyone else find it hard to squeeze the cheese on their bike? I really have to stand on the pegs and stick it out to one side to let a little squeeker out.

Agreed! Usually it's easier if you're cornering, as you have half your arse off the seat anyway. Well, I do

The smell of a female on heat looking for a studly biker.
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

I am partial to the sweet smell of Jet Fuel on cool clear mornings, the aromas to be had driving in the country (and past the Indian Neighbours place when they have a good curry brewing!)

Farting whilst riding - havent quite mastered that yet, would rather focus on the job at hand than poking a turtle-head out into my Dri-Riders (The whole turtle would be worse, but you couldnt call it a fart then eh!)

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure...

I can't stand silage. Smoke is yukky, either smokey diesels or people trying to burn big piles of damp god-knows-what near the side of the road.

I like grapes. We were riding through Eskdale on Friday and I got a whiff of this grapejuice smell, and then noticed that all the vines along the side of the road had fat black grapes on them. Mmm red wine...
I like the wet road smell.

Oh yesssss.. I like the smells. Stop smoking for a couple of weeks and notice dozens more.

I like the 2 stroke smell. Especially if it getting stronger, means I am catching up.

Petrol smells from a badly combusting bike, getting stronger, means I am catching up. It is impossible, I know, but I swear bikes smell different from cars.

Diesel, means slow down, so one does not rear-end the tractor (Usually carrying an implement with fuckloads of sharp bits) or hit the spill.

Takeaways. I don't stop for it, just smells good. KFC smells the best.

Farm smells. Cow poo. I'm a city boy, so a farm smells good.

    Grass. Good.

    Pine trees. Good.

The other grass from the car in front. Good.

    Ciggies, car in front. Good.

JET FUEL. Lovely. Always smells good near the airport.

I could go on forever. The only bad smelling thing really is the soap factories in Petone. Always a new bad smell that conquers the previous bad smell.
