A Two stroke of equal capacity generaly produces more power than a four stroke so I'd put my money on the Aprillia

Dont think Ducati do a 250. Think their smallest is a 600cc. The Aprillia is the fastest 250 money can buy. By FAR. As Zrxer mentioned a 2-stroke (which is the Aprillia) will be far superior on power/speed than a 4-stroke (CBR/FZR/ZXR/GSXR 250) only prob is 2-strokes dont last as long/cost more to run/unreliable compared to the 4-strokes.

Ducati 250s? Not been one in awhile.

This one and the Mach 2 (Was there a 3?) are a highly pleasant looking little bike.

Aprilia RS 250 is quickest (and best handling) of that bunch
I know someone who has a brand new one they are selling for 13,000 if you're interested...
2005, 800 kms on it, and it is MINT!! PM me if you want to know more...

best 250 imho is the CBR250, closely followed by the ZXR250, then the gsxr and the rest..
The aprilia would be the fastest out of the 250s, cos it's a 2 stroke, but it'd also be the most costly one, cos they aren't cheap bikes. The easier 250 2 strokes would be the RGV and the other one (can't remember the name), cos they're more common, and cheaper to run. But they're f'in quick

Not sure if you're looking at buying but...

if you have to ask, then the 'aprillia 250's not for you...

Well, in my personal experience, the CBR is yet to be beaten. But I haven't raced many other 250's. The bikes are all close enough that it is pretty much down to rider skill. Seems like you've already got the CBR, so I would be happy with that. Check out the Club 250 forum.

    i agree.

    haven't seen a ducati 250 for a long time,
the modern bikes would be quicker by lots,
but if you owned a ducati 250 you wouldn't be too concerned with its performance vs new stuff. they are classic.

The Aprilla is the fastest -

The CBR is the best pick of them all, unless you have an exceptionally mint ZXR.

The CBR will do 190kmph all day every day provided you look after it - as you must know since you own one.
