Bren - I think I've come accross this guy. I was riding (at an above 'average' pace) in a group of 5-6 guys around the hills, R1 leading the pack (of course) and a dude on an ageing 2hundy nips inside me - on the freakin apex of a bend. He blasted off ahead around the twisties - caught R1 and went passed him. R1 pinned his machine and caught him, then this dude pulls away again, then he and R1 have an almighty race on until they hit the straights, then R1 on his R1 streaked away.

A damned impressive rider this guy was.

Incidently I slowed down at one stage when my radar detector went off, and almost everyone else except me (that I've spoken to) got pinged, some doing 150+, by an unmarked van (red Toyota).

R1 is currently saving hard to fix his bike, which appears to have some rather worrying noises coming from deep inside its guts. He's around. And no - somehow (...) he didn't get a ticket....

It's not the bike you ride it's the rider that rides.

I don't think they can catch your plate when you wheelie everywhere.

Wonder if thats the reason for the strange noises coming from R1's engine? Some bikes starve for oil when on the back wheel.

I had an interesting experience on my way home from Wangas last year. Was riding with a mate on his XR650 but I had his huge back-pack as well as mine on my pack rack. Now his mate on a Triumph somethingarather sports bike passed me then the two of them disappeared off into the Parapara's leaving me with all the weight behind.(although I did have some fun keeping up with an Aprilia 1000) At National park the mate on the Trumpy went his own way and Ross & I swapped bikes. Was the most fun Ive had on two wheels for a long time. At Ohakuri I started trying to push it and it was so easy to line up & take smooth lines. Every corner I was getting further away from him. True he did have all the weight but I couldnt believe how easy his bike was to ride fast! Dont knock the chook-chasers. They are very capable in the tight stuff.

Seen a guy up there on a TDR250, but that was black and yellow. They were/are a real fun bike! Wish I still had mine as a second bike....

Aww overtaking him on the straight was a bit rough after all his hard work. Just goes to show it aint what ya ride. Sounds like someone needs to give him a decent bike and stick him on the track.

I'm still around, and would have kicked that 200's asre!

But as Biff has said my bike is making a knocking sound, that as yet I have not located the cause

so for now you can all lay claim to what ever you like, but I will take back all titles when my bike is fixed ..

And I dont think it was wheelies that broke it, it was more The full noise drop the clutch on the line at the drags that broke the poor old girl
