Smile Qkchk's New Baby YZF-R1 50th Anniversary Edition

Okay after all the nagging about pics of the new beast, I got off me bum and got the bike out for some photos.....

Just excuse the Suzuki in the background (Custards Gixxer), it's just there so you can compare the quality build of the Yamaha

This is a 2006 YZF - R1 in the 1970's classic race scheme. It is a limited edition only released for this year only........ hence the '50th Anniversary'. Has a label on the front above the headlights and a sticker on the fueltank to commemorate this. (Plus the retro colour scheme) And no, I did not buy this to match Custard's bike either so

BTW The bike is a bit dirty from riding in yesterdays downpours...........

That sure is a beautiful bike... how does it compare with the hayabusa for riding?

Everywhere you look there's a damn blue one, yes they do look good but I think it's time Yamaha got more creative.

Atleast they didn't change their most common colour with glittery flames....
