Westport to Bluff on a 200cc chook chaser.
Respect - that's all I have to say.
I was coming back from Arrowtown this morning in a work van when I see this guy with a motorbike at the side of the road so I slow down and ask the fella if he's alright. Turns out he has a puncture in the rear tyre. so I sez "Have you got the kit to fix it and I'll give you a hand?" Nope sez he. Tells me he's travelling from Westport to Buff with all his gubbins and a bow'n'arrows.
Bummer. I look at my watch and it's 5 to one. The bike shops down here all seem to close around one so I reckon the poor fella is buggered. He needs to get to Bluff to catch the fishing boat to Stewart Island to go shooting Deer with his bow (whitetails - I always thought they was spiders)
Anyway - long story short I tell him give me a hand lets lift the bike into the van I'll get him to Winton (10km down the road) and try to get him sorted.
We just get in to Winton at like 5 past 1 and the Suzuki shop there looks like they're closing AND the mechanic has a broken collarbone. But big ups and they come to this fellas rescue and agree to repair his tyre. (with the rider agreeing to do the heavy lifting work)
But bugger me - Westport to Bluff on a 200cc chook chaser. Big respect to the rider and hope he enjoys the hunting!
