would easily be a 650 urual with a sidecar, i hopped straight off a ducati 748R onto this old beast... totally overshot the first corner, luckily i was turning right and the road continued .. i rode the ol girl to the top of the takaka hill and back down, pretty exciting having no brakes and the sidecar come off the ground!

The 1984 model Yamaha IT 490 that my Dad had back in the early 1990s. Ruddy awesome. Torquey for a 2 stroke and kept on pulling. A real 'Man I'm alive!' kind of bike.

mach 3, power of a 175 up to 6000 then power of a 750, fun in the wet I can tell you. And try stopping that with two drum brakes.

I take it you are talking about the Kawasaki Mach III - H1 500 triple 2-stroke, right...!!!
My very first 3 bikes were an S2 350 triple, then the H1-B 500 (Mach III - with points), then the Mach IV 750 H2-B...
The S2 gave me a "thrill" when I was able to get off it - and realize I was still alive. Handling was non existent. Still loved it...
The 500 H1 just gave the scariest thrills,, all speed and no handling. Still loved the bike though...
The 750 H2 gave the the biggest thrill to get on and open the throttle - It was a rocket ship. I loved it for the couple of years I had it...
Then I bought a Suzuki GS-1000 and instantly fell out of love with the 2-stroke triples, and that was only 100 yards from the shop where I bought it. Once I hit the motorway, it was motorcycle heaven...
The BIGGEST overall thriller was undoubtedly the Suzuki GS-1000, because it was my first 4-stroker and the difference between 2 & 4-strokers was so unbelievable - huge torque everywhere, just open the throttle and away you go,, 1000cc of horsepower,, much better mileage,, so comfortable,, so smooth,, handled brilliantly,, even the the extra weight was not really noticeable. What "wasn't" there to love about this bike - nothing...

Being tow started by a Trabant in Karl Marxstad on my 1970 BMW R75/5 with sidecar in sub zero temps, sliding around the road whilst hoping the rather keen driver would stop when I got it started.
Almost every minute of riding a 500cc Royal Enfield Bullet on Indian roads.
Riding my BMW R65 around Paeroa last feb.

THREAD DREDGE... well I bloody can cos its my thread...
reason for this dredge is due to... 24 years after I bought this bike, I bought it back... rocks in my head maybe, paid twice what I did the 1st time round (how the fuck does that work) any how, its a little scruffy but I can deal to that... bigest disapointment is it wont startand the brakes are seized on... oddly it didnt run when I 1st got it so its of to the same guy for attention.

Most thrilling while we are dredging?
Could say the 300 dirtbike.
But instead after all these years it's the 50. Memories of certain corners either with the suspension compressing as the slicks dig in to a banked corner at crazy lean angle. Or as I was thinking about in the morning of a silly hairpin braking like a lunatic, knee on the deck as soon as the rear wheel got some weight back on it and releasing the brake slowly to keep the forks from popping up and unsettling the chassis.
Or one Dangerous will remember: rolling about in the snow day after the BoB, racing the 50 Ruapuna B against 150s several laps in trying to make time up where I was losing heaps in the straights, in 4th lining up a pass on a young Hoozi for 3rd, went deeper into whatever the right before the link is. It was a beautiful move, but I was in unsweepted area since the snow had cleared.
I still had snow on me when I got back to the pits.

A while back Ducati split the Monster line into Monsters and Streetfighters. That is one of the latter. It is indeed a V4.
