Looking pretty unamimous so far (obviously subject to Mr H's willingness). Could someone set up a pole so the next two pages of this thread are then same.

btw that was an aye from me too.

I'm also sure we could do a whiparound when requried so to share the associated burden of cost.

    Any views?
White trash, I've been a member for a few years now, good bunch of rider and yep, grouse rally each Waitangi weekend at AlexanDRA (being pedantic here), this years was 20th at that site.

They do a lot of unrecognised work and are wll worth joining, it's in your best interest as a m/c rider

Mr Hitcher, you have my vote also. And happy to contribute if money is required.

Yeah I was there this year. me and four other bikes road down to AlexanDRA on the Friday, partied REAL hard then road home Sunday.

My cousin, Russell, was the little prick celebrating his 21st getting dragged on stage and what-not.

Bloody good weekend. We'll have to meet next year

When I last posted I didn't think that I was volunteering for anything, but I am humbled by your endorsements!

If we are going to use this KiwiBiker site as a way of co-ordinating biker advocacy issues, then there is a bit of thinking and planning that needs to be done.

A useful first step would be to compile an issues register of matters that we feel strongly about, particularly those that involve regulation by central and local government. We then need to do a prioritisation exercise to determine the ones that we not only feel the most strongly about but also the ones where we believe we stand a good chance of influencing opinions.

We also need to keep our eyes and ears open regarding pending legislation or regulation that we believe runs counter to the interests of or discriminates unfairly against bikers.

Our objective should be to present a credible and reasoned voice to decision makers and opinion formers.

And there's a whole bunch of other stuff we could usefully do as well.

Sounds like some worthwhile fun, and I'm happy to throw my shoulder against the wheel!

Yep, catch up with you next year or at the Pissed Penguin at Kaka Point in Sptember.

My weekend was a bit like yours except I had my 13 year old son at his first rally so I pulled the reins back a little on the partying! Road off on the Sunday to Nelson (well, stopped at Geraldine and Hanmer Springs on the way). Me&Mrs Scumdog got a real wet arse from Nelson to Amberley on the way home a few days later - (that was the week when Picton got flooded out).

One that should be easy to convince the government is allowing bikes to use bus lanes whereever a bus lane is posted..... ie transit NZ buslanes, thus when the victory is won, the next battle will be ever so slightly easier

How about a poll to see how many members think enough about their riding to join BRONZ?
It doesn't cost THAT much and united we can make valid representation to govt on vital aspect of motorcycling.
I haven't been to a BRONZ meeting for yonks but still support them, pay my sub and recommend others do the same.
