    got a few

i have owned all these and found them to be bad,or should that be not good enough(quality, relability, performance)

    suzuki savage, bad top end
GSX-R 250 , shite valve and carb setup
the NEW GN250, cheap[ and nasty
Yamaha XZ 400 (real bad!), heavy, electrical nightmare, slow....
suzuki sj125, pathetic build quality, shite exhaust!

    just to name a few.
    some good ones
Yamaha DT 175, well built, wheelies easy, tough, light....
Honda NXR 125 (a 4 stoke 125 that keeps up with the dt in standard trim!)
FXR 150, rusty but good overall package
    SG 350 suzuki, handles A++
honda NH125, relable, easy to ride, cheap

there are plenty more, but thats my list!

    Rode a mates 650

once. Darn heavy brick of a sod. Especially after riding my XV500 V twin Yamie . Now that was a nice light cruiser with no engine in sight like the old SR500 single. How are you???

I would have to disagree... I have done some big tours on these beasts. Admitadbly (sp) they are not sports bikes. They are super reliable, comfortable and easy to ride for days on end. Like the humble gn250, they are nothing fantastic on top end or handling. But fuful the job they were designed for with flying colours.

If you still dont beleive me... Go test ride a bmw boxer cup

I possibly would believe you if it wasn't for the fact I've worked in two Beemer dealerships......they are no more reliable than any late 70's or early eighties Jap multi, and nowhere near as good.

What about some people who don't care about speed limits, speed cameras, fuel prices and that? That makes a lot of crap bikes out there. But I bet the people riding most of those crap bikes reckon they're wonderful, and can't understand how people like me don't have rooted wrists and knees, and still have licenses, from riding our sportsbikes.

Yep,it would be a boring old world if we all liked the same thing.i think the best way to look at bikes would be the same way i look at beer, there,s no such thing as a bad beer,it,s just some are better than others.

Honda CB900 Hornet - $10,995. Skelstar would be proud of me for bringing it up...

I've also heard plenty of good things about the SV650, but it probably isn't quite what you're after.

Good idea if you can stand buying a used bike. You don't have to wear as much depreciation, and you get a heck of a bike for the same price you were going to pay for a lesser beast. Your call at the end of the day.

I think motorcycles are like sex. I have never ridden a bike & gotten off thinking "Ο wish I never rode that bike"......

I have ridden a few bikes that I wouldn't ever want to ride again though... Once is enough sometimes.
