Seat Cleaning?

Heres a question for all you riders out there. My seat is getting scuffed from lifting my leg and shoe over. Im looking for the name of a good cleaner/polish.

I dont think boot polish is a good idea as i dont want a black arse and i have been warned about using armoral and sliding of the seat.

I've used armourall for a couple years, just spray on and rub it in.
I usually let it "rest" for a about half an hour or leave it in the sun for a bit, just go easy on the cornerning for the first few k if your worried about sliding.

All polishes will make it slippery. Anything which makes upholstery shiny will also make it slippery. Armourall type products are the worst for this as they contain silicon.
Mind you I don't worry too much and have used Armourall and Neopol.
I think the whole slipping off the seat thing is bullshit personally, there's plenty more keeping you on the bike than your buttcheeks. What are you going to do, lift your legs in the air and let go of the handlebars just because your arse moved a bit?

My seat is leather, so I usually give it a wipe over with the rag I used to dubbin my jacket with. Brings both up really nice and makes it soft without being too shiney or slippery.

The last seat I had reupholstered, the uphosterer-dude told me to use nothing except soapy water.
I just wash it with the wash'n'wax I use for the rest of the bike. Doesn't seem to be slippery at all (unlike that time I foolishly used Plexus....)

Get some steps......or a springboard, will at least stop the scuffing......

I love using silicon spray an the seats of bikes I am selling. The seat looks great, and you know someone just had a worse day than you when they ride off on your ex-pride and joy that has an ice rink for a seat.

Wearing slippers would accomplish the same thing.
I recommend those gorilla ones, for a more manly look.

My seat's a bit scuffed too. The vifferbabe has Diadora race boots, and they're a bit scratchy. I've also told her not to wear them in bed, but she really likes them...

What the blue blazes are you doing wearing shoes? Do you think your socks are going to be any protection for even the most minor of slip offs? Please buy yourself some boots.

FXRs aren't very tall, just lift your leg higher.

Vynil seats clean up nicely with a bit of laquer spraying thinners & a rag, its amazing how much dirt & how black the rag goes, even if the seat is another colour!! [Test on a corner of the upholstry first]Works everytime for me!!

Of course it goes black... the thinners are eating the vinyl and depositing it onto your rag...
