Question for the cops, lawyers and othe knowledgable parasites on here.

Ok, now I have offended you I have a serious question.

What is the maximum penalty a judge can dish out for exceeding 100km/h?

For example say a "friend" of mine was pinged at 176 and it is a first speeding offence, can a judge extend the mandatory 28 day loss of licence as well as a hefty fine?

Or will my friend need a soap on a rope and a large pot of Vaseline?

From memory its a maximum fine of $1000 + court costs. I'll have to check up to be sure on that, I'll confirm for you later in the day if no one else pipes up first.

No, everyone knows you can't speed.

Bad luck to your friend. It's winter anyway. Time to re-kindle your relationship with da wife.
