    Getting old

Decided to give in to my advancing years and sell the RF.
And buy a nice comfy, middle-aged bike, something like a Bandit. In fact, it is a Bandit.
Bloody hell, it's got some grunt though. Accelerated into a gap in traffic and nearly collected the car in front, instant torque. And it's good to sit up nice and high and see for miles.
Getting a new toy is always good too. It only cost x dollars and a new sewing machine.

    Congratulations, Lou!

IMHO the Bandit is a far superior bike to an RF anyway. Good choice

We'll see you at Motoracers stunt day then?

The bandit is a primo bike we have a 600 one at home it was the play toy before the gsxr600.

The only problem we have ever found with them is the seat, that is the bike seat we modify the most of at our father in laws business, there is like 1 every 2 weeks at least we modify. suzuki just about have it right but the seat lets it down

Based on Lou's comment about grunt I'd be very surprised if it wasn't a 12.

Of course, owning a B12, Lou is now obligated to start stunting.

pretty much cut some of the seat out, to a hight you like(we put a bit more foam in cause the foam on those seats is to soft which over time makes it hard, you put hard foam in which means you don't go thru it) then we put a nice cover on it, we done tons of them, one of the best ways of doing it, is coming down with ya bike and we modify the foam to your a$$ and height.

and go from there, to cover how you want it, you can look at www.trimit.co.nz or if ya want i can email you some pics of some of the bandit seats we have done.

Only the latest model Bandit would rate as better than the RF. The early models have way too much frame flex.

Anyway Lou, welcome to the world of the grunty 1200!

Not wishing to appear a smart arse, mr H but I beg to differ.

To my knowledge, the "flexing" you reffer to was, I believe, to be caused by shit rear suspension. Johann "Peoples hero" Bruns succesfully eliminated what we all thought was frame flexing by replacing the shock with a Works Performance unit and some 1 inch "jack up" linkages in the rear.

After that, the boy gave me an absolute hiding around Manfeild on my GSXR750W.

    I stand corrected, WT.

A Bandit is NOT an old fart machine...

Bugger getting old on a Bandit! Suppose the next step will be sticking on flat Renthal bars, a race can and some trick bits to turn it into a mean street fighter!

    Good on ya!
