I *am* the boss
I have a company vehicle or other reason why I can't ride to work
My boss is a biker, thinks bikes are cool .
They don't care so long as I'm on time, neat and tidy
Could do it, but they'd not be happy. There'd be words
Nope, definately career limiting.
I'd be down the road right smart
I could but I don't want to. I only want to ride on the weekends
I don't have a job/I'm a student (though why in that case you need an option ??)

I am the boss, and I'm very friendly![]()
Having a company vehicle has been one of the reasons I've not ridden on the road for a few years, and sold my road bike, but now with my new purchase I'll get back into it, and probably leave the vehicle at work now and again.![]()
My Boss, His Boss and the MD all think it's pretty cool!
I get a park inside the warehouse so that the bike doesn't get knocked over which is cool. I am the only person who rides to work though.
The only issue I have is getting there early enough to get the shower first (bloody gym bunnies, lol) and there was this one day where I forgot to pack my shoes into my bag.....
I am the same Nicksta, Corporate attire required, but I find it is worth it for the ride!!
Om nom nom.
I work in an office, have to wear corporate attire (heels, business clothes, nice hair and makeup) I would ride to work but it would mean restyling my hair and carrying a complete change of clothes and makeup... and i also have limited space for storring cordura, boots and helmet in my pokey little cubicle.... that and there is not much bike friendly parking (and if i took a normal car park in our allocated parking the others would bitch about a bike being parked there taking up space)... the bike park we did have got taken away in leu of a smokers area which doesnt get used as it is too far from the offices....
all said.. next summer when i get back from the states.. i'll be riding to work every day on my new bike (when i get it)

I am retired but when I was working I had a Company car as part of my package and still took my bike in lieu of the car "and" used the fuel card to fill the bike.
I used to use the bike in preference to the company car to travel all around the South Island for work purposes. (I was a manager of sorts myself)
The CEO even bought a bike the same as mine after borrowing it for a trial.
This was never a problem, was even covered by company insurance!
Probably a company a lot of you complain about regularly too.Cheers John.
I can't imagine any job where arriving on a bike specifically could be a problem for how you do your work. I am the owner and have a company vehicle so wasn't sure which answer to give - I need to have my van at home so I picked the second option. I often cycle to work in the summer if I can fit my van in the workshop, and use the vee twin when I can work it but mostly have to take the van home in case I get a call out. WHat job would prevent you from riding to work? I can't think of one and reading these replies see that no one has come up with one yet. I guess if parking was a problem and the boss wanted the company car/van taken home instead of being parked in town...
The company owner usta ride Hogs and still has a trailee so he's pretty cool about it, even when I crash and leave us real short of staff during christmas![]()

My MD has 20 odd bikes in the garage, but all old crinkly ones. In saying that, I'll gladly take his RG500 off his hands.
But he is in Dunny Din. Boss in auckland doesn't have a petrol headed bone in his body, and the local one has had bikes, so he is sweet.
they did get a bit grumpy in auckland, with my gear being around the place, but I just started wearing T shirts and shorts to work, gave them something worse to complain about, then the gear in my office ceased to be an issue.
Now if I can only stop the Auckland guy from getting pissed off about KB useage during work time, I'll be sussed!
Boyd hh er Suzuki are my heroes!
The best deals, all the time!
I don't ride to work,I might get wet or cold - but the place is full of my bikes and other gear.No peep out of the boss,he's gutless.
As a company director myself, you uncooth bikers can all gvo to hell if ya wanting a job!!!!!
My boss helped me (read helped me ALOT) get back on a bike, which I am eternally gratefull for. Gives me alot of good advise, and helped me dig myself out of a few holes.
As soon as my new one arrives (read pass license) I'll have to go for a ride with him some time. He rides a K 1200R, I'm dying to have a go![]()
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking. Racing around to come up behind you again.
Ok, I work at DX Mail, so i ride to work on a bike, and work on a bike..
