    black 4x4

..so I’m driving at 80kmh through the back country roads of clevedon with my 3yr old in the front on my way to pick up my 6yr old from school when a complete dickhead in a 4x4 is about to drive straight through a stop sign in front of me. Lucky I see it unfolding and by this time am well locked up in a screech of tyre smoke. Dickhead obviously hears something & looks out his driver window with that vague look on his face & the empty look in his eye(you know the one). His face turns to horror & he proceeds to jam on his brakes & stop in the middle of the intersection. I let off the brakes & cruise around the front of him & as I do I give him the well deserved salute(& mumble to myself a few expletives). What shocks me is that said dickhead then returns the salute! Now I am a fairly easy going guy but this is just not on & I slam on my brakes & pull to the side. I’m thinking to myself ‘it’s hammer time’ as my mind goes into overdrive.(yes I admit, road rage has overcome me now but I just cannot believe he just put me & my boy in grave danger AND has the audacity to give ME the finger). I back up & follow the guy indicating for him to pull over & flashing my lights(he has 2 female passengers in the car). He sees me in the rear view & I see the alarm in his face, I am fumbling with my cellphone simultaneously trying to get it off keypad lock(hate that) & trying to read his plate to call the cops, when suddenly he transforms into Michael Shumacher’s brother. I am doing close to 100kmh on this backroad now & he is now accelerating madly at what looks to be 140 as he dives into the oncoming lane to navigate a corner & bridge. I can see the body language on the 4x4 which isn’t good & now I’m shitting myself that he might lose it in spectacular fashion. He is now 500 metres ahead & I think to myself.. he HAS to stop at the next stop sign to cross one road then onto the main road & I’ll get his plate. WRONG, fuckwit drives straight through the next stop sign at around a ton & straight out onto the main road, now I’m expecting to see tyre smoke & cars going through the air, this fuckwit thinks he’s on playstation. He has flown into the oncoming lane & is now attempting to overtake 3 cars with a blind crest just up ahead. I’m shocked & pissed off as I finally reach the stop sign. A car which was coming in the opposite direction turns into the same road & I look at him & the look on his face says it all. I have no idea how he didn’t get taken out & he looks like he is in shock. I get my phone unlocked & call the cops. I give them the details but only got the first 3 letters of the plate. I turn back to go pick up my girl & on the way I see the car that just turned off pulled over on the side of the road. I glance at him as I pass & he is just sitting back in his driver seat looking blankly ahead(probably wondering if he still had that spare set of undies in the boot). I hear nothing back from the cops. Yesterday I went for a leisurely cruise through the neighbourhood to see if I can spot the wagon parked up(it’s only a small area). I don’t know what I’ll do if I find him but I think I’ll just call the cops again. This guy is a killer with no respect for other road users.
Now I think back I shouldn’t have even followed him, what if he had killed someone, I would have to live with that guilt as I may have contributed to it. I never broke any laws.. & I would never endanger myself & my boy, I would have followed further but I couldn’t leave my girl waiting at the schoolyard for a ride home. I can tell You that this guy will be getting his medicine one way or the other. Sorry for the rant, just had to vent..
Be careful out there people, & watch those side roads eagerly..
    ..it's another red light nightmare..

A bit more insight to Police chases eh? You weren't even a Cop and this guy does a runner endangering others lives....and you followed him spuring him on to even greater heights.I'm not critisising you,I would of done the same thing, maybe more - but if you were a Cop this site would be at your throat.

Glad you realise you could have contributed to a nasty accident by chasing this twit. He was obviously scared witless of you and that can make people do stupid things. There's so much road rage around with severe bashings etc. that I would say everyone is nervous about being chased. HAppened to me 30 years ago and as there was no way my old auto Hillman Minx could outrun the Valiant I stopped and talked my way out of a hiding by a drunk rather large Maori. Wasn't my fault but he took exception to me. In the end we shook hands and parted amicably. GAve me a scare, though. Yeah, we gotta try to control our indignation these days. Esp. me as the Doc says not good for my blood pressure! I'm on medication for it. Best to just try to reprt him via *555 even though it's not always successful.

Yep. Build a bridge. Then lure the prat onto it and push the bastard off.

BTW, sounds like he was both witless AND doing stupid things BEFORE being scared by Mr 750Y.

Post the three rego letters you did get, lots of bikers do the Clevedon loop, may be able to supply the missing digits.

Sorry to hear of your scare 750Y~ a lot of drivers pull some stupid moves from time to time. Everyone makes a bad call at some point (some more often than others).

About getting even though ~ don't. One revenge just begets another...
Giving someone a hiding just puts another chip on their shoulder for them to justify their f^%$d up behaviour.

There's way too much agro on the roads (and the rest of NZ) as it is and some KBers seem to want to fuel the fire.

    Take it easy all,
    Keep it rubber-side down...

I realised that there may be some politically correct fucktards who will read my post and find themselves shocked for doing so.

    It is a piss take.

    Nothing more.

Go write Helen Clarke a Mothers Day card if you see it as something else.

i totally agree with you guys, here was i thinking i was justified in my actions but i was totally missing the big picture due to tunnel vision of the moment.
plus i had a shit day that day too ending in a failed engine & calling out the coastguard to tow my sorry ass back to the boat ramp but that wasn't the reason i reacted, i just felt pissed off at the cheek of it.
the car was a charcoal-black lwb 5 door 4x4 (nissan regulus?). AAP???. i have a 3l v6 4x4 d/cab ute & i know it wouldn't go as fast as this guys' so i'm picking it was a turbo. the guy i described as caucasian mid twenties brown medium collar length wind-swept hair & possibly unshaven. his front seat passenger was a caucasian late teens-early twenties medium-long(shoulder-upper back length 'abba' style hair honey-ginger blonde possibly horsey girl. rear passenger i believe was younger female possibly early teens similar coloured hair as the passenger maybe a younger sister?. his hair was darker so likely not a brother but a boyfriend.
he came out of tourist road at around 2:50pm across monument road heading through toward papakura. he came straight out of tourist road & onto clevedon road, without stopping, at high speed(for a 4x4) which is actually crossing 2 roads & ignoring a stop & a give way.
Clevedon is a small place & he will turn up again, unfortunately for him.
    ..it's another red light nightmare..

giving someone the finger when they're driving dangerously, isnt that a universal road signal, what did the other driver expect, obviously driving like a(dare i say it) dick, does *555 actually do anything?, its probably a tool used for defusing road rage without the cops actually doing anything
