I personally haven't. But I've spoken to a couple of people who have. And they reckon it was pretty cool. Lightweight. I hear the rev counter is quite optimistic, and the power is all up the top and you need to ring the nuts off them. Other than that, I can provide an opinion on only the looks.

Jimbo600 has a new GSXR600 if you're that way inclined. MD has the current model 636. And I think they've done a bit of swapping (bikes not anything else). Both of them are good enough riders to be able to provide an accurate opinion. I just rely on what I hear, which is no more accurate than pub gossip!!

Well mate a new R6 is a grand more expensive than a GSXR600. A US bike magazine tested the K6 suzuki and rated it as the most advanced road bike ever made. Personally I'd say GSXR is the business. An awesome bike indeed. If you want supersport track performance with attitude go for the Suzuki. However, the 636 is cheaper still and after riding MDs I can say is probably the best value you can get on two wheels. Tricker than David Copperfield at a great price. Got that old fashioned under seat exhausts though. MotoGP exhausts is de rigeur now ya know.

    Buy one man

I ride an 01 gsxr 600 and didnt find the r6 that gutless down low, wasabout equal really. Twist and hold the throttle to the tap though and pwhoar! Havent ridden an 06 gsxr (eh jimbo? hint hint), but id bet 5 bucks (cant afford more) that it would give it a run for its money.

Don't forget to try the Daytona 675. Top end's about the same as the 600's, but there's much more mid-range. I think AMPS has the only demo bike.

Bloody Oath. Saw a Black/Grey one the other day. Very nice indeed. Prob a contender for SS bike of the year too.

I kicked off a thread on the new Yammy R6 under the Sports & tourers section on here. I took one for a decent ride.
It's up there as the best looker but not value for money. No way would I recommend one for mainly commuting or tourers. Gutless at low and middle revs. One just for the racer types. I also had a short spin on the 675 and can't say it felt any more torquey than my 636. For most road uses, I'd say you can't go wrong with any of the Suzuk, Kwak or Triumph. They've all stylish and what's good is, they all do it in a different way.
If you feel like spending the extra thousand or so bucks then go upmarket with the Brit. What type of riding do you do. If like me it's playing in twisties then you DON'T need a 1000cc, the 600 class rocks. I was a bad boy on Jimbo's bike and found myself bloody flying along faster than I should on a Mate's loaner for the first time- says a lot about the bike doesn't it (brings the hooligan out in ya).
Edit- just saw you have a Buell. Well if you are in to 'something different and not as common' then it's the Triumph for you.
