    scooter vs. 15cm dia. rock

I was riding home along St Lukes road just past the mall, and there was this scooter riding in the lane next to me following an SUV of some sort. Anyway, I saw this bloody big rock, must've been 15cm diameter, smack in the middle of the other lane. The SUV went over it without touching it, but the scooter was riding right in the middle of the lane about 2m behind the SUV, and didn't have enough time to swerve around it. Luckily I don't think he hit the rock head on, just nicked it, because he kept on riding, but jeeze that was close.

A truck spat an apple at me the other day, more like 1/2 an apple as the rest was apple sauce.

Also following a lowered Cherokee on the way home from buying my new bike pants (stuffed up the front of my jacket instead of putting them on for no real reason other than laziness) when a rock about the size of a coffee mug was sucked up off the road buy the cherokee and it was right between my nipples when I caught up with it.

It seemed to happen in slow mo.

It was like taking one from Tua.
Never been quite so grateful of my laziness.
Otherwise if I had not been knocked off I would have broken a rib or 2.

Reckon the scoot rider might increase their following distance in the future?!

That wasn't a rock, it was Mt Eden!
