Lets get the email engines going folks. Tell this guy just how ratshit that white paint is. I'll post an example for the inarticulate ones tomorrow.

I called Mr Zemanek. He's not the man we want but he was very helpful. Ominously though, he is a biker himself!And has as much trouble as we do with the paint!.

Anyway he' s given me the names of the people in the Materials division, who are the bods who can specify less slippery paint.

I rang both but they're both in meetings.

Brian also told me that they (Transit) are only responsible for markings on State Highways (which IMHO are not really a problem ).

Round town it is the responsibility of the local authority (eg City Council). So I guess for me next stop is Auckland City Council.

EDIT: The Transit thing is still relevant, because apparently most of the City Councils use Transit's manuals and specifications.

yeah its true point being?? painted lines suck the strongest survive lets make them more slippery and weed out the gene pool muhahahahahahaa

i know a large number of scooter riders who have downgraded from bikes and are certainly not new to this game....i also know a few young kids on full sized bikes that are new to the game, and my guess is it hurts more coming off a big bike as opposed to a scooter.

generalisation really.

and no...ive never had trouble with highway markings....usually cos theres less of them! have more trouble with roadworks leaving loose chips everywhere.
