Ride or Drive

I would have called it going for a ride on a bike.
But in a car, if you are going somewhere directly or have an idea where your going, i would assume that would be called a drive. however
if you don't know where your going in a car/just been picked up and don't know where your off to, it could possibly be called riding in a car.
