Welcome Plop, Wellington needs more hondas I've done similar, tried for about 15 minutes to crash start the bike with the fuel turned off. I rode to Silverstream once with the stand down. We all do stupid stuff, its what makes this place a good laugh.

Check out the TCWNR, its a load of fun with good people.

    Smile 1st Post

Sounds familiar to me, about 1 month ago having recently purchasing a GN250 the previous owner had said he normaly got 240km out of a tank - I took that as a definitive number......

So on my way home after about 200km on the clock, blasting up the long grafton motorway onramp I suddenly started losing power, unsure as to what was happening i decided it was best to change down and pull over, when I went to let the clutch out now in fourth the motor was no longer spinning so my back wheel locked up. ahhhhh...

Figured i'd pull my clutch back in and slowed down, took me about 5minutes before it even crossed my mine that i *might* be out of fuel, onto the reserve and bobs ur Uncle. Turns out I might have been riding it a bit harder then the previous owner

And then there was the time I tried to take the bike off the center stand without sitting on top of it..:slap: - noobies!

Well that's about right, 200 km on main tank plus 40 km on reserve gives around 240 km on a tank full.

Oh, welcome to the site. I see this was your first post.

    Welcome

Next time you loose power like that just jam the choke on to keep it running and then turn the tap over.... I find my ZXR takes a bitta starting after I run it dry.... Or maybe I'm just impatient.

(P.S. Hapened to me at night on SH16 about 25KM outa wellsford a few weeks back, everyone does it )

kinda like running out of fuel on the motorway, calling a friend, friend arrives with fuel, fills up bike ride off. a few days later do the same thing. then whilst stitting next to the bike wondering what you are going to do spot a little tap.
