    What are the odds?

For years I ride without ever getting pulled. Then I decide to pull my head in for a while and be a good boy, and what happens? I get pulled twice in two days! Last night, refer my other post for the pisstake of that, and this morning.

This morning was a biker cop. Pulls me for lanesplitting. In fact, pulls me for the exact same thing I've been doing for the last 2.5 years - past cops past everybody. This morning I was doing it even more cautiously than I normally do. Well, if the ticket does arrive in the mail like he promised, I have this funny feeling there could well be a few head to head comparisons between heavy BMWs and lightweight jappa sportsbikes.

i prefer to 'pull' at pubs and bars, more chance of picking up a chick and less chance of picking up a cop! :P

Yeah being pulled over, seems to go in cycles.
I had been riding for 10 years without ever getting pulled, then I had rebuilt my NSR about 2 years ago and took it to town to get some gas, a cop pulls me up and I didn't have a warrant (as it had been off the road for 6 months).
Then a few months back when I had my 600, I got busted twice in two weeks, once by a hidden laser out by my home, 120kmhr (they told me they were actually trying to catch some cock in an XR6) and another by a fingerprint cop who was a cunt in town....doing 80 he reckoned in a 60. When in reality he was driving like a wanker in the right hand lane of a double lane road.
Just gotta expect to get pinged every now and then I reckon......call it additional tax if you will.

Well you can take it that way I guess. For every action there is a consequence, sometimes things take a while to catch up to some people...

Well riders with the temerity to lane split at pace obviously get away. What is the advantage of not displaying temerity?

not quite sAs, i was splitting last night, at about 80-90% of the speed we were doing last time i followed you in to town.

Nodman was on his police bike and had received calls about me, doesnt take long to sneak up in the bus lane and pullup alongside you while you negotiate cages.

Thankfully he just gave me some 'advice' and left me on my way, which was subsequently followed up by a polite PM telling me to be a good boy.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

My commiserations. The cops are cracking down on it.

I got pulled on 2/5/06 and charged with unsafe lane changing.

The cops reason was that, although I was indicating and legally moving between lanes, the speed differential between me and the cars was too great.

I had a discussion, but when he started talking careless riding I backed off.

Seems to be the price of doing business lately.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Well just think of it this way.... Think of all the times you have been given a warning, had the lights flashed momentarily then turned off, had a finger waved in a "naughty, naughty" motion etc.... Then think about how little tickets you have actually received.... (this isnt directed at you madboy, just people in general...)

I for one, are one of the few KB'ers that have been truely screwed over by the police for something i should have only received a ticket for exceeding the 100kmh speed limit... But you dont see me saying how all cops are wankers and blah blah blah... There are rules, you take the risk of getting pinged if you break the rules, so people cant go crying when they get a ticket or lose their licence...

So i changed my riding style to suit... Yeah i admit it i go fast occasionally... and yeah i used to do it all the time... But how about we go fast in the quiet areas... and when you come upon a cage, pass them safely and with respect, thus you get less attention when they dont *555 you...
