right I picked up this bike really cheap. got told it might be a 400... don't think so though and am going to be fixing it up a bit will post some pics of the project.

Says ag on the tank but don't know if it's the origional tank or not but I think it's a little ag100

Yes it's an AG and the cc's cast on the barrel should give a clue as to its capacity.

    It's a AG175 roughly 1982 the larger AG200 was a 4stroke with the same engine as a XT200

Larger Yamaha 2strokes DT360 & DT400 ( which would have the same engine if it was a AG400 had the exhaust exiting on the leftside)

Check the frame No. should give an idea what it is, if you find the frame number and still don't know just google it

Looks like the 100 but I could be wrong. Mate of mine had one years ago as his farm bike. Another friend bought a defunct one to "do up" - never did, of course - your classic teenage "I'm a student with no money and no mechanical knowledge or experience but I want a bike and I've been given this for free. I'll just get it going and I'll have my own bike." No thought of what it would take to get it going or that there might be a reason the bloke gave it away...

Later he and 2 of his university mates pitched in together and bought a defunct RD250 to "do up" - I told them that I doubted they'd get it going and they'd better pray that they didn't or it'd kill them. (neither of the other two had ever ridden a bike in their lives and my friend had only ever ridden my old TS125 a couple of times at low speed and they were proposing to have an RD as their "first bike".) Thankfully, their combined mechanical aptitude was as low as their riding ability.

Don't know if the other two ever did get a running bike later in life. If they did, I hope they got a safer "first bike" and progressed up to something faster.

The CC capacity stamp should be on the barrel somewhere, possibly R/H side front bottom of the fins behind the expansion chamber.

Wrong... It is actually an ag100 (although It might just have a bunch of ag100 parts on it) its got "yamaha 3v6" on some of the bits and according to the yamaha parts listing whatever it is an ag100. the 3v8 is the 175.

here are some of the bike in bits (last night)

Please tell me it doesnt have front disks? It would be a shame to lose another set of Calipers lol
It's been a rough day. I got up this morning, put on a shirt and a button fell off.
As I ran out the door, I picked up my briefcase, and the handle came off.
Now I'm afraid to go to the bathroom.
