    hayabusa top speeds?

i was just having a "debate" with a mate about how fast a hayabusa can go... i told him they are now limited to around 295kph, but he seems to think he has seen a non-turbo hayabusa doing 350kph..... and then a turbo hayabusa wheelied past it.

now am i right in saying that the amount of power needed to accelerate a hayabusa at those speeds increases so much that at 330kph it takes another 8hp to manage another 1mph?

im fairly sure that i was closer to the truth....
so tell me who was more on to it?

    lol

and another point, doesnt the hayabusa use gearbox speedo? because if thats true than the hayabusa he now claims does 380kph [different hayabusa ofcourse] actaully read that, because by re-gearing it at the back will make it read alot faster wont it? if the sprocket is smaller or the first sprocket is bigger that is

A recent sprint meeting down this way provided the above results...

Kind of interesting how that extra 100cc achieves s.f.a. I believe one of the Busa's at the event had a significant amount of money spent on it too

Your mate probably saw exactly what he described, on the internet of course.

If the video he says he has seen is the one I'm thinking of, it's a GSXR1000 doing short of 300km/h and GR on an unfaired 499hp Hayabusa lifting the front as he accelerates past him.

yeah thats the video i think he means, except the one he "saw" the guy that was passed was doing 350ks easily on a standard busa.

that bike that GR passed was doing 285-290ish and that would have been about 265-275 compensating for mechanicakl error on the speedo?

What are you on about, just cause it comes with its very own george foreman grill doesnt mean its ugly.

Actually it looks nothing like a RF900, its only one design aspect that you can consider to be similiar but thats about it

Someone in a previous post reviewed top speeds attained by various bike mags around the world with most standard 'busa's getting to around 305km/h, prior to them being 'voluntarily restricted'. Top measured was 311 in Aus. though someone claimed a genuine 320 in England. It takes a huge amount of power, as demonsrated by AMCN in Aus with a modified bike to reach a genuine 320 or 200mph.
