Ha Ha. We took the day off work to ride up to the Cold Duck from Wellington today. Think we'll have another night at home in a dry bed.

mmmmm - what's on at the movies today ?

I ride faster than the rain drops, works wonders.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

The guys from Mythbusters determined that running in the rain causes you to get wetter than walking (due to increased frontal contact with the water). So that means the faster you ride, the wetter the mess. Those LTSA guys got it wrong........:slap:

Thanks to Nikwax visorproof, the faster I go, the clearer my visor is.

There methods aer flawed; You have to go faster than the rain falls, then you wont get a drop of rain on you....

That's the myth they were trying to prove/disprove. They rigged up an indoor course simulating rain and did samples walking vs running, and compared before and after weights of their clothing. The faster you go the more rain drops you hit on your front. When walking it just sprinkles on your head.

That applies to an upright walking position though, so, if you are lying real flat on the bike it would seem that faster would be better.... Therefore, cruisers: slower=drier sportsbikes: faster=drier, superman: well......

Well, if the rate of horizontal rain contact is proportional to speed, and vertical rain contact is constant, then yes, you will get get less wet over the same distance by going faster.

But who around here needs an excuse to go fast?

I got drowned this morning. Even through nylon pants, my crotch is soaked, and my oh-so-comfy skate shoes are reduced to a turgid, sodden mess.

No that's not me. I work down on the Petone Esplanade, and I can park under cover, off the road - sweet.

    Hope your bike's sorted.

Well I'm riding up to Coromandel in the dark tonight. That coast road between Thames and Coro is likely to be a whole heap of fun if the weather stays like this - hope I don't end up in the sea

I didn't really get wet this morning, courtesy of having quite decent wet weather clothing. Gotta watch the right hand on the throttle though,...bit of 1000cc bike going sideways occasionally
