Dirt bike is the answer - big thumper or V-twin and get it moving sideways.

Just wondered if anyone in NZ managed to ride to work in the dry this morning?

no work today so took off to palmy and feilding.
was soaked right through by the time i hit the highway, lol. [thermals, jeans, boots and socks. feet were half swimming! ick] top stayed relatively dry, but drying the gear is another thing. my denim vest and leather jacket are both drenched. had to buy a pair of gloves in palmy cos mine were destroyed, got a proper pair of thinsulate kids ones [finally a pair that fit!] from savemart.

not too bad a ride over though, aside from tailgators. theyve strung up that cheese cutter shit on certain corners, which freaked me right out.
saw about 6 other bikes on the road....one cruiser in palmy and the rest sportsbikes on the open road. cruiser waved....no one else did.
got lost in fielding [whoops!] and massey uni was graduating, so people in cap and gown everywhere in palmy....closed roads etc.

got home feeling like a block of ice, so defrosted in the bath. never been so cold!

Anyone for wet undies?? Riding in the rain is not that fun. I got to work reasonably dry, new gear is working well.

I've got good waterproof gear so I don't give a shit about a 20 minute commute in the rain. A lake covering the carpark when you get to work is a different matter though.
And like others have said, I do miss the CRT monitor to dry the gloves with.
